Welcome to the SITAR page, we offer sitars and instruments by Mohan Lal Sharma, Mohammed Waseem, Shahidali, P & Brothers as well select nice pre-owned instruments by Hemen, Hiren Roy, and Rikhi Ram when available. Every instrument is carefully monitored through each stage of production and air shipped only. While we have access to nearly any maker in India, we've chosen these few makers based on predictable superior quality and tone. We have a long history with each maker and regularly visit India every year to monitor progress on the instruments. We go to an extreme degree that is unmatched by anyone else to guarantee a very high quality instrument for you!! If in doubt, give us a call and we'll play them for you, there's only one other dealer in the west that can do this so don't put your trust in cheap importers or dress shops! Sitars are the main reason we're here....Custom modifications are available from some makers provided you're willing to wait for it. Otherwise, in stock instruments will generally feature half closed jawari in the case of Kharaj Pancham sitars or closed jawari for Vilayat Khan style sitars. Please be aware that often incoming instruments get sold before I can get them up on the website. It's best to email or call me if you're interested to see what's coming or in stock that may not be up yet! Prices on some models not listed as they will vary according to how they're shipped at the time. I really prefer direct contact with serious buyers to make sure I have what you're looking for. It's just a one-person shop here rather than a commercial platform with canned images, etc.

Mohammed Waseem Maner: One of the premier makers in Miraj whose designs and carving are without equal. First instruments now up, many more coming! Each instrument slightly different and will be numbered instead of labeled. I have known Waseem a very long time and happy to be carrying his instruments, we work together on the final offering and so secondary and final fitting and jawari done here in the workshop according to your needs. Waseem's instruments usually all vary slightly and his focus is on quality with limited production.

From Suman Karmakar in Kolkata, very fine instruments. Suman is not as well known as others but was very influenced by the tone and style of the late Hiren Roy and his instruments show it in their darker warm tone and appearance.
