Made from aged mahogany with a nice piece
cut for the tabli and natural finished gourd from Maharashtra.
Features natural material for all fittings and
bridges. Ebony trimming, bridge, langot, grommets
and sympathetic pegs with inlays of mother of pearl.
Spiral main pegs, shellac has also been left on some
of the inlay giving a nice antiqued type of
look....A very nice bright and open sound, perfect
for Benarasi style, light classical, etc. Very
playable flat fret setting....This sitar has been
air shipped (as are all of our instruments) to
preserve its quality. In

RA Sitarmaker is a shop in Miraj India
that has been making instruments for
generations. All parts of the instrument are
made within the shop unlike almost all other
makers in India. Miraj sitars feature thinner
tablis (soundboard) that are more of a rounded
shape and known for a booming ready to go sound
right from the beginning. RA Sitarmaker has made
sitars under 2 other names in the past, Karasek
Sound and Sugita. This particular design is a
variation of one produced by the shop for
Karasek Sound called 'The Raven' only in a Gandhar Pancham setup.
