Used ~ refurbished RA Sitarmaker half decoration Ravi Shankar style Sitar

Made from aged mahogany with a nice piece cut for the tabli and natural finished gourd from Maharashtra. Features synthetic/bone composite fittings and bridges. Has a carved upper tumba yoke, traditional eyelets and brass langot. Stamped with the RA logo and number. Lotus main pegs and inlaid brass design dark sympathetics....This sitar has been air shipped (as are all of our instruments) to preserve its quality.  The sitar you see is the exact model in stock, we use natural light photography but due to low light conditions these photos have had moderate light/contrast adjustments and do not do the instrument justice but it will have to do for the moment!   This sitar has a little crazing in the finish (faint cracking) and minor "shop rash" on the bottom tumba but is spray lacquer as opposed to traditional French polish and best left alone. It has a medium touch with lowered action, 3/4 open jawari and very responsive sympathetic strings. A nice tone and priced to sell, full jawari and setup done by us also, it's perfect for a serious beginner or as an addition to your instrument collection. One only in this style of setup. Do check out our recent very nice instruments by RA (Ayub) on the sitar main page, we're no longer getting this type from them.
