Mahogany wood and half cut natural gourd ~ kachua style. Built to be a more portable version of a full size concert sitar it has a great sound and is suitable for those wanting a smaller sitar without sacrificing volume or tone. It has a 13 inch wide tabli, similar to many full sized sitars. Set up with a bass pancham string only, a common tuning in Varanasi with nice quality geared tuning pegs for the main strings and hardwood sympathetics. Comes with a regular size sitar gig bag. Natural materials for the bridge with a 3/4 open jawari and responsive sympathetics. We will include a McIntyre transducer at no extra cost with this instrument. This sitar  was personally selected by us in Varanasi, fitted to our specs and air shipped to our shop. A remarkable instrument from a great maker!
