Srishti Peacock Concert Sitar

Aged premium mahogany (tun) wood. Kharaj Pancham ~ Ravi Shankar style....Fully carved and decorated in colored penwork . Rose carved main pegs with inlaid sympathetic pegs and natual top tumba with natural bridge materials and fitting, included fancy langot design.. Modern style tarab string outlets. Penwork is dual colored, quatersawn wood on the neck. This sitar has been air shipped (as are all of our instruments) to preserve its quality.

This is a another prototype, there was a Lucknow Peacock design at Sitars Etc. at one time but these actually have always come from Uluberia and Calcutta and Lucknow is not the first place one would associate with good sitars in modern times but a flavor of the old designs are represented here. One only currently for sale and it sounds and plays wonderfully, we may reproduce it if there is demand in the future. Please note there is no full back picture, this was an oversight and not on purpose!
