Great for students as we have found this sitar to be the lowest priced sitar that is completely acceptable for both newcomers and experienced players alike. Almost all sitars you'll find in this price range have serious fitting and playability issues, not with us because all go through our rigorous inspection in India and setup procedure and feature open jawari in the Ravi Shankar style to half closed Nikhil Banerjee style (will vary) and are fitted by our personnel that work on our best models. Soon to be featured in the College of William and Mary sitar course!

Affordable and very playable! Good for your first playing attempts or even the long run. Kharaj Pancham ~ Ravi Shankar style. Made from mahogany (tun) wood. Fully carved and decorated in colored penwork . Spiral main pegs with inlaid sympathetic pegs and carved tumba mount. Modern or traditional style tarab string outlets (varies). Wooden upper tumba. Brass langot and synthetic or natural composite bridge with open jawari. You won't find a better new instrument anywhere for this price!! Designs may vary slightly in each shipment.

This sitar has been air shipped (as are all of our instruments) to preserve its quality.

We're no longer having these made, they've been replaced by the half decoration standard sitar by Naeem Sitarmaker which is very good quality and similar price range.
