PEG ROSIN ~ Stop peg slippage! We have rosin in powder and liquid form. The powder type you put in your hand and rotate the peg shaft in it. The liquid you put 2 drops on the contact surface and let dry. Both work great, the powder lasts slightly longer but a little more messy to apply. Rosin works better and lasts longer than chalk

CHALK ~ 1 stick of wax-free white railroad chalk, the traditional way to prevent peg slipping. Will last for years.

Fret Set ~ Set of 20 nickel silver matched frets that will fit Srishti sitars and many others from Calcutta including Rikhi Ram, etc. 3 3/4 inches long, .0183 thickness. Will not match Hiren Roy flat fret setting. Please send us your length and thickness measurement before ordering. Each fret has been fitted and is numbered but your mileage may vary depending upon your setup.

PADDED NYLON CASE COVER ~ Protect your fiberglass sitar case with this padded cover. Has a pouch for accessories on top as shown. Please note this cover only fits the standard fiberglass cases as found from Kolkata. They will not fit MMC cases or cases with built-in accessory compartments or Rikhi Ram cases. Has backpack type V straps for easy carrying and great for airplane journeys, etc. We have 2 types, one with a handle cutout on the side (near the combination lock) and one with a side and top handle cutout (top being on the case lid in the middle). SITAR TRANSDUCERS ~ AMPLIFY YOUR SITAR

We've had a lot of experience looking for the perfect way to amplify a sitar. There are a lot of options, the standard SM-57 mic as used by touring musicians or contact pickups or a combination of both. The most common pickup available is made by K&K sound and we used to carry them when I founded Sitarsetc. They are sold as K&K, Blue-spot, D-Tar, etc. at various places and do an average job but sorely lacking in the full sound spectrum and prone to feedback problems. We offer 2 choices that work well. The ST-08 transducer by McIntyre pickups and the sitar pickup from PUTW. If you need any advice or have a specific setup requirement such as a stereo setup we're happy to help. Also for permanent mounting Scott Hackleman can mount the PUTW model with the jack set in your langot on your sitar.

Sitar pickup Sitar transducer McIntyre ST-08

Just added to our site, the ST-08 is a great alternative to the cheap twin pickups that have flooded the transducer market. Feature a protective coating and is easily removed and reinstalled. Large enough to produce a great sound without another contact being necessary. A good 'hot' sound for a disc transucer with high sensitivity and level in a standard pre-amp setup. Attaches with adhesive putty that's included. I (Lars) use one myself !! Output is a standard 1/4" jack. We will be testing other types of McIntyre pickups in the future for stereo and permanent mounts.

SITAR transducer pickup amplify

Pick-up the World's polymer film pickups are made from one of the most accurate and linear transducing materials known to mankind. Each sensor is carefully crafted and optimized to reveal the truest voice of the instrument to which it is applied. Over 28 years of research and design applications provide accurate solutions for virtually every instrument in existence. The sitar pickup is shorter than the one shown, easily attaches with adhesive tape that's included. Output is a standard 1/4" jack. These are best suited for permanent mounting but can withstand a very limited number of uninstalls.

Sitar pre amp

The PUTW Line Driver
This is a very popular pre-amp in a belt clip configuration. It has ¼" input and output jacks, and is small enough that it can also be mounted on some instruments directly with Velcro tape, wire ties, or other hardware. Has a volume and gain controls, optimized for use with the PUTW transducer. Runs on a 9v battery with appx. 600 hours runtime. Stereo version available by special order that operates with 2 PUTW transducers.

TOP QUALITY MIZRABS ~ Even harder to find than a good instrument, a proper fitting mizrab is essential to your playing. We feature Calcutta style (thinner wire) and Benares style (thicker wire) mizrabs.
