Will fit any style of tuning as it comes with 2
jori strings. Includes full sympathetic string

same 1st string used by Pandit Ravi Shankar and is not available commercially. Devoloped by a close friend of ours specifically
for Panditji, it's a
recreation of the famous Sheffield string from
England, exact .012 over 400,000 psi hardened
carbon steel.

PEG ROSIN ~
Stop peg slippage!
We have rosin in powder and liquid form.
The powder type you put in your hand and
rotate the peg shaft in it. The liquid
you put 2 drops on the contact surface
and let dry. Both work great, the powder
lasts slightly longer but a little more
messy to apply. Rosin works
better and lasts longer than chalk
CHALK ~
1 stick of
wax-free white railroad chalk, the traditional
way to prevent peg slipping. Will last
for years.

SITAR TRANSDUCERS ~
AMPLIFY YOUR SITAR
We've had a lot of
experience looking for
the perfect way to
amplify a sitar. There
are a lot of options,
the standard SM-57 mic
as used by touring
musicians or contact
pickups or a combination
of both. The most common
pickup available is made
by K&K sound and we used
to carry them when I
founded Sitarsetc. They
are sold as K&K,
Blue-spot, etc. at
various places and do an
average job but sorely
lacking in the full
sound spectrum. After
the recommendation of
Scott Hackleman we
discovered these
fantastic pickups made
by
Pick-up the world.
It's as close as you'll
get to a studio sound
with minimum feedback.
The models we carry are
specifically made for
sitar and compatible
with most of the better
pre-amps by Fishman, L.R.
Baggs, etc. or even
better you can use a
PUTW pre-amp available
here.
If
you need any advice or
have a specific setup
requirement such as a
stereo setup we're happy
to help. Also for
permanent mounting

The PUTW Line
Driver
This is a very popular pre-amp in a belt
clip configuration. It has ¼" input and
output jacks, and is small enough that
it can also be mounted on some
instruments directly with Velcro tape,
wire ties, or other hardware. Has a
volume and gain controls, optimized for
use with the PUTW transducer. Runs on a
9v batter with appx. 600 hours runtime.
Stereo version available by special
order that operates with 2 PUTW
transducers.

MIZRABS

Even harder to find than a
good instrument, a proper fitting mizrab
is essential to your playing. We feature
Calcutta style (thinner wire) and
Benares style (thicker wire) mizrabs.
If you have a favorite size, view the
picture on the left and send us the
measurements as indicated in the
comments section of the order page. We'll try to
match it for you rather than waste your
time & money with the wrong sizes. If
you are a new player then look at the
underside of your finger and measure
exactly from the first line of the joint
to the tip (usually ¾ to 1¼ inch) and
then add ¼ inch. Sold in groups of 3.
